McAuliffe School Counseling Department Mission Statement

The mission of the McAuliffe Elementary School Counseling Program is to work collaboratively with all educational stakeholders to provide equitable access to a high quality, comprehensive school counseling program designed to meet the diverse academic, social-emotional, and career needs of all students. Through the incorporation of a purposeful, data driven school counseling program the Professional School Counselors will advocate for each student learner and develop quality individuals capable of acquiring the critical thinking skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary to become successful, resilient, and responsible leaders and global collaborators who never give up.

My name is Mr. Brian Rand. I am a 5th year School Counselor in Prince William County Public Schools. I have 23 years of experience in education ranging from School Counselor and teaching grades First and Second. I have spent 7 years in Prince William County Public Schools and have spent 14 years in Fairfax County Public Schools. I have lived in the Woodbridge area since 1986 with the exception of when I was in college. I attended Virginia Tech for my undergraduate and graduate degrees. I am a product of Prince William County Public Schools, where I attended Rippon Middle School for my middle school years and attended Woodbridge Senior High School for my high school studies. My wife and I have an almost 4-year-old puppy named “Bruno” who is the love of our lives. We love going on long walks with him and enjoy spending time with Family and Friends.

Hi! My name is, Mrs. Abraham. I am excited to join Prince William County this year! I look forward to working with your child. I am from Long Island, NY originally and moved to Virginia not too long ago. This is my second year as a School Counselor, first year in Prince William County. I was a Special Education teacher for six years prior to becoming a School Counselor. I have a Masters in School Counseling and a Masters in Special Education and I love both! Outside of school, I love spending time with my husband and 2 daughters and attending live concerts. I work at three different elementary schools. Here's a break down of my schedule. I am at McAuliffe on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. Enterprise on Tuesdays and Penn on Thursdays. Email is the best way to contact me. PWCS cares deeply about students’ emotional well-being. If a student is in need of emotional support during this time, please feel free to send an email to [email protected]. A school mental health or health professional will answer and offer virtual support to students to the best of their ability. This email is not to be used for emergency situations as it will not be monitored 24 hours a day.
