Counselor's Role

What Do Elementary Counselor's Do?

  • Guidance Lessons: Elementary School Counselors go into the classrooms and teach lessons about a variety of topics such as bullying prevention, empathy, problem-solving, career exploration, personal safety, middle-school transition, and more!
  • Small Counseling Groups: We offer small counseling groups to students to work on specific skills such as social skills, emotional regulation, coping with worries and stress, and more. Most groups meet for 6 to 8 weeks and require parental permission.
  • Individual Counseling: School Counselors can work with students individually for a few sessions to help support them with issues affecting them at school.
  • Consult: We are happy to consult with parents, faculty, and staff members about student needs to help all of our students reach excellence!

School Counselors are part of the regular education team of the school, available to work with everyone, and we want to be as accessible as possible.

If you have absolutely any questions or would like to talk with us, please do! We are available to help you get the answers you are seeking.
